Tungsten carbide grinding jar is the highest density grinding tools for milling and crushing applications. High hardness and strengthness can meet the application of crushing and refining for most majority of metal powder, especially those hard and super hard metal powder.

Miller uses different tungsten carbide grades for different samples, one of our common carbide grade is MC8, which is composited of Tungsten carbide – TC: 91.8%, Cobalt – Co: 8.0%, Other: 0.2%. Its density is about 14.6g/cm3, twice that of stainless steel. We recommend our customers to use a larger size plenatary ball mill for tungsten carbide grinding jars. For example, the weight of a 500ml carbide grinding jar is about 5.5kg, we recommend to use in 4L planetary ball mill instead of 2L planetary ball mill, otherwise it is overloaded.

Choice of Grinding Jars & Balls

In order to prevent excessive abrasion, the hardness of the grinding jars and grinding balls used must be higher than that of the material grinded. Usually grinding jars and grinding balls have the same hardness.
